This was the first ever picture of John (coincidentally, also the first picture of John and Korin together.)  Um. . . if you don't know what this picture means, then. . . just don't think about it too much.  It'll all get explained within, oh, say, the first ten pages or so.  I don't think I'm really spoiling anything.
